TAHOMA NATS CHAPTER FALL FESTIVAL

WHAT:

SUPER FUN, SUPER FALL FESTIVAL OPEN MIC EVENT

WHEN:

Saturday, September 26th at 3:30pm

WHERE:

Cascade Voice Academy, 38210 SE 92nd St, Snoqualmie, WA 98065.

WHO:

All Tahoma NATS members and 3 of their students (could be more, depending on number of participating teachers)

WHAT SHOULD I BRING/PREPARE:

-One song (solo/duet/group number) that you LOVE and want to share

-Your Sheet music in the right key or a backing track. All sheet music should be printed double sided, marked with any changes or instructions, and hole-punched

-A dish to share (i.e. potluck picnic style)

-Lawn chairs

-Lots of cheering and support for all the performers. (It's never easy to get up in front of a group. Please keep all comments positive. Let us teachers work on touch-ups during lessons later!)

-Your smile and willingness to have a great time!!

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

ANYTHING THAT MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE A ROCKSTAR!!!!!!!!

Something that makes you feel great! Remember you're going onstage. Give yourself time to pick something out and get ready, so that you feel really confident and calm!

SOME DETAILS TO SHARE WITH STUDENTS:

-Even if you aren't performing, feel free to come on by, dance, eat, party, and support the other artists!

-Please stay to watch and support the other musicians who are performing before and after you perform.

-Please arrive warmed up.

-Bring a copy of your sheet music or backing track, just in case.

Students ONLY will come to a fun, safe, stress-free opportunity to perform the music you've been working on with fellow voice/guitar/piano students. This DRESS REHEARSAL is mandatory for those who are singing in the Halloween shows. We are going to be doing a sound check and trying to get as much of a run-through of each song as possible.

Students and teacher will discuss constructive ideas about technical or performance concepts, to instill a growth mindset and take away some of the fear and mystery behind public performance.

We're so excited to hear everyone perform for the SPOOKY backyard party on Friday, October 30th at 4pm and 5:30 pm at Cascade Voice Academy, 38210 SE 92nd St, Snoqualmie, WA 98065.


SOME FINAL DETAILS:

-Even if you aren't performing, feel free to come on by and support the other artists.

-Please stay for your whole time slot to support the other musicians who are performing in your grouping.

-There will be pizza, soda, and s'mores around the fires.

-If it's raining and you have a small canopy, we would welcome you bringing that for the day.

-Singers, please arrive warmed up.

Summer Session Ends

Our summer session is 11 weeks long (June 8-Aug 23) and designed to allow for flexibility during those busy summer months. Our Summer Session includes:

  • 6, 8 or 10 Private Lessons packages - 1-hour lessons with exercises and songs chosen to help you grow. These can be scheduled using the student scheduling page. You can just go in, pay, and pick your most convenient 6, 8, or 10 lessons days/times that are available! Please book all lessons asap, so that you make sure you can fit them all in this summer! Summer lessons will expire on Aug 24th.

  • 1 End-of-Summer Recital- This is our super fun, end of summer musical celebration, which takes place on our beautiful out-door stage on Aug 8th at 2pm! We will add more performance times if we need them.

Jazz Workshop Series Day 2: Swing it & Sing it! MASTERCLASS

Welcome to our Spring Jazz Workshop series!!! This is the 2nd in a 2 day series. You can register for each class individually or both classes for $50 off. Both links are below.

Come and sing with expert jazz singer and teacher Kelly Eisenhour!

Day 2: Sunday, May 3, 12pm-3pm. This will be a masterclass in which participants will sing through their song with jazz pianist Danny Kolke! Kelly will help you to polish your song and skatting!

Day 1: Saturday, April 11, 4pm-7pm. Learn about jazz styling, intros, outros, form, communicating with the band, and improvisation with your own jazz standard (we can help you find this!)! We are so excited to welcome jazz pianist John Hansen!
