OUR STUDIO
At our music studio in Snoqualmie, we offer private singing, songwriting, and classes for kids, teens, and adults. Intentionally tailored for the school year and other busy schedules.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Because singing comes so naturally to many of us, we often don’t realize that there are ways to sing that are healthy, efficient and effective, and many ways that can be just the opposite.
Good vocal technique is all about releasing unnecessary body tension and strain, learning to harness and utilize the breath efficiently, and creating resonance to achieve a wonderful sound. When students discover these skills, singing becomes effortless, lovely and incredibly enjoyable.
At Cascade Voice Academy, we truly believe that anyone can improve his or her voice regardless of age, experience or perceived “talent” and we invite you to come explore that possibility with us!
OUR VOICE LESSON & PERFORMING PROGRAM
Our Voice & Guitar Program is a 10 month program designed to follow the school year (Sept-June). We follow all Snoqualmie School District holidays and breaks. Our year-long Music Program includes:
Weekly Private Lessons -50-min lessons with exercises and songs chosen to help you grow.
4 Group Studio Classes w/ Live Pianist - Safe, stress-free opportunities to perform the music you've been working on with fellow voice students. These may take place at alternate venues.
Access to All Special Events - Only CVA students will be invited to attend and participate in workshops, contests, concerts and other musical activities. There will be several performance opportunities in the Snoqualmie, North Bend Issaquah and Bellevue Communities. We will also hold an acting, monologue, music theory, and other workshops from time to time. These shows may have a registration fee and ticket fee to help to cover the cost of the space rental, sound and lighting, and band/pianist fees. Workshops and contests are not covered by tuition.
Multiple shows and Recitals w/ Live Professional Band or Pianist (typically about 1 per month) - Show off your progress to your families!! Our most recent ones were at The Lucky 7 Bar and Grill, The Black Dog Cafe Open Mics, Boxley’s Jazz Club. We often perform at the Bellevue Square mall during the holiday season. Our previous shows have also taken place at Tula’s Jazz Club, Wildflower Wine Club, Boxley’s Jazz Club with a live, professional Jazz Trio, and The Lucky 7 Bar & Grill with a live professional rock band!! These are just a few examples of some of the fun performances we do!
ADULT GROUP (18+)-Singers With Attitude (SWA)
Mondays, 6-8pm- This class is open to all singers above 18 y.o. S.W.A. is made up of a community of welcoming people who love singing together. Angy is the director of this group. We work on singing basics such as breathing, resonance, posture/alignment, articulation, etc. We choose music based on the group’s preferences, covering a vast array of musical genres (classic rock, pop, jazz, musical theater, classical, etc.) This group will also cover stylistic characteristics of these genres.
YOUNG ADULT GROUP (17-35)-Voices in Sync: Singing from Solo to Harmony
Sundays, 2:30-4pm- Music will be mostly contemporary styles, like pop\ rock\singer- songwriter\ contemporary MT, but will be chosen with the group's preferences as a priority.
This class is for adults who want to reconnect with their voice — or finally give themselves permission to use it. We focus on healthy technique, vocal freedom, and expression without judgment. Whether you’re a performer, a hobbyist, or someone who’s always wanted to sing but felt held back, this class is about building confidence, coordination, and joy in your voice.
In addition to individual work, we incorporate small group singing to explore harmony, blend, and how your voice functions within a chord or ensemble. Working in groups helps you develop deeper listening skills, pitch awareness, and trust — not just in your ear, but in your coordination and connection. The goal is to understand how your voice belongs in music, both on its own and with others.

You must give at least 24 hours notice if you are canceling a lesson time for illness or emergency. You must give at least 1 week notice or longer for vacations or rehearsals. All other cancellations will not be eligible for a make up lesson.
PUNCTUALITY
Students are required to arrive on time with all music books and folders needed for that day's lesson. Please call or text if you will be more than 5 minutes late. Please prepare yourself with enough time to arrive at lessons. If you are late, that time is not made up. Repeated lateness will not be tolerated. If a time doesn't work for your schedule, please alert me to the problem and we can try to find a suitable solution. Students later than 15 minutes from start time, without a call, forfeit that lesson and will be charged
HOLIDAYS & INCLEMENT WEATHER
Cascade Voice Academy follows all Snoqualmie School District Holidays and inclement weather cancellations. Lessons that are cancelled due to inclement weather will be made up with a group class.
TERMINATION OF LESSONS
If you decide to terminate lessons at any time during the year, any tuition fees already paid will not be reimbursed whether or not the student chooses to attend the remaining lessons for the session. If you are late in paying tuition and then decide to terminate lessons, you are still financially responsible for paying the entire tuition.
PRACTICE & PARENT SUPPORT
Practice is important no matter what age. The more that one does something, the better one becomes. Work with your child to set up a daily, uninterrupted practice time to establish a routine. Sufficient scheduled practice time, on a daily basis, is the surest guarantee that your child will experience consistent progress. All lessons will be recorded to help with this. Parents should ask their child how practicing is going. Listen to your son or daughter practicing. Show interest in their progress. Give praise. Singing is a very vulnerable act. It takes courage. Having a safe and positive environment brings out the best in everyone!
ACCEPTANCE INTO CASCADE VOICE ACADEMY
We have the right to refuse service to anyone. Please know that we do not accept everyone as a student. Our personalities must be compatible as well as an understanding of goals and expectations. Focus is a big factor for acceptance. If your son or daughter has trouble maintaining focus for 20 - 30 mins, then, perhaps, the time may not be right for them. Be patient. Learning takes courage and drive.
